Step inside the city’s iconic Brooklyn Navy Yard and explore its 220+ year legacy of industry and innovation. Visitors are invited to explore 40+ open studios and factories where they will meet artists, entrepreneurs, craftspeople, and urban manufacturers. While exploring some of its 300+ acre campus, visitors can enjoy music, food and drink, guided tours, and activities. The Yard is home to more than 500 businesses, 70+ historic and contemporary structures, and 3 miles of waterfront. It is a national model for adaptive reuse, job creation, innovation, and culture. The Annual Open House is the only day each year when we open our doors and invite the public to enjoy our beautiful campus! Organized in conjunction with Open House New York Weekend. Art Work: Artists Working at The Met
June 6 - June 19, 2022, Gallery 199

Since 1935, staff members working as a part of The Met community, many of whom are accomplished artists, have shared their creative contributions with each other on a regular basis. This year we are delighted to open this presentation of their work to the public. The wide range of artistic expression—from drawing, painting, and photography to sculpture and digital media—corresponds to an equally expansive representation of departments throughout the institution, including guards, educators, technicians, librarians, designers, engineers, conservators, volunteers, registrars, and many others. Read more about it here.
